The long time mystery of the Ochiltree not appearing any where until 1757 in Virginia has lead to a broader search. There are handful of families who cannot be traced on the Atlantic crossing. Every Scottish historian I have spoken to says impossible! They say it is in the records but either there is an error or a lie.
These families all appear in Virginia about the same time and stay together another 200 years.
My final conclusion must be, the 88 jacobites who were transported after the trials in Glasgow and sold into white slavery in Maryland are the families! They were all aboard the Gildart.
