You owe it to yourself and others to rejoice this day. It is the day of realized optimism and hope and all the good things that we can create. You have survived the soul-examining Advent, the Christmas concerts at school and at church, the shopping and the cooking and tomorrow you can put your feet up (after church, of course) and try out your new toys and read a new book or don your new clothes and lace up the skates and go out for a spin on the rink. Today is the birth of the Christ Child! Let us be glad and rejoice in it . . .
