Sweet April
April scampers lightly through the wood,
Daffodils and lilacs bloom where she stood.
This lovely maiden of fair sweet dreams we hold
Close to our heart because she had stopped the cold
.
We stand so silent to see tired winter’s futile will
Bend and melt while April skips about to thrill.
Soft warm breezes, a wisp, were once icy brisk
They left us in our shivering self at winter’s risk.
Laugh we now to see her skies so clear,
Here again she brings a reason for cheer.
