Pickled Beet Recipe
The children love pickled beets but they have
become so expensive to buy.
Not only expensive but just small jars with
not enough to go around for everyone.
This is how I came up with a way to
have them always on hand.
1 Gallon Can plain beets
3 cups sugar
2 cups apple cider vinegar
1 Tablespoon whole cloves
3 quart jars with lids sterilized
Dump everything in a large pan. Heat to boiling.
After the juice and beets
have come to a full boil. Turn off fire.
With a dipper lift the beets out of pan and
fill jars, seal and let set on counter until cool.
After beets in jars have cooled place them in the
back of refrigerator. These will keep long enough
for everyone to enjoy. When you get down to one
jar. Do this all again.
