Wolverines, beaver, caribou, moose, etc. They also need to fell trees to get firewood and run dog sleds and snow machines.

I've watched several episodes but there is a lot of duplication which is a bit of a pain.

Alastair! If they are doing this then I think soon they have to stop because in this way they will create problem for themselves. Right?

A bit slow but now understand the haunting and hunting <grin>

As I understand it if you watch the series they can only fish and hunt at certain times of the year and can only kill the bull moose. There are certainly restrictions on what they can do and the people seem to understand that.

In Ontario the moose hunt is controlled by a 'tag' system. Hunters enter their names into a lottery and may receive a 'tag' which permits them to shoot a moose. This can be either a bull as cow or a calf. Not every hunter receives a 'tag' and often 'groups are formed to take 'advantage' if one of the members is successful. The meat is shared across the group and this is not 'trophy' hunting I think the same applies for deer hunting...
