    Electric Scotland News

Had an issue with accessing my web site to publish the newsletter so now have access again so now able to get this newsletter completed. Sorry for the delay.

    -------

In news it appears that Scotland's First Minister has been accused of misleading Parliament but this is a leak from the Committee investigating her which official report is not expected for several days.

    -------

Bit concerned about the US President as I'm seeing more reports coming out on how he seems to be stumbling over his words with the latest report saying he talked about President Harris instead of Vice-President.

Like two headlines in today's newspapers...

President Biden appears to be getting worse as he refers to Kamala Harris as president

    and

Joe Biden falls while boarding Air Force One - US President stumbles on aeroplane stairs

And given the serious situation with China and Iran this is not the time the US needs a weak President.

Scottish News from this weeks newspapers
Note that this is a selection and more can be read in our ScotNews feed on our index page where we list news from the past 1-2 weeks. I am partly doing this to build an archive of modern news from and about Scotland and world news stories that can affect Scotland and as all the newsletters are archived and also indexed on Google and other search engines it becomes a good resource. I might also add that in a number of newspapers you will find many comments which can be just as interesting as the news story itself and of course you can also add your own comments if you wish which I do myself from time to time.

The SNP cares more about power than principles
The SNP government has form. It withheld documents from the judicial review, which resulted in the 'professional embarrassment' of its own senior counsel. It withheld documents despite a search warrant in the criminal case against Alex Salmond, which is, in itself, a crime. It has also withheld documents from the committee. There is a pattern of behaviour here, and it is one of obstruction, secrecy and contempt for the institution of this parliament.

One of Scotland’s first MSPs warns the harassment of women in politics has never been worse
With bleak irony, she says the fall-out from Scotland’s controversial Hate Crime Bill and, in particular, the rancorous debate around the promotion of transgender rights and alleged threat to women’s rights have inspired more hateful abuse than any other issue.

Scotland's Legal System now in disrepute
There has been revealed in Westminster very serious matters on the legal system in Scotland and then we also look at how the new hate crime bill is now interfering with free speech. And how the law in England has a "Dwelling Defence" meaning you can't be prosecuted for what you say in your own home. This is not included in the Scottish Bill meaning you can now be prosecuted for what you say in your own home.

    Story

Instead of a story this week I'd like to recommend that you visit the new "Legal": page where you will find some serious discussions on legal matter to do with Scotland. You can read this at:
https://electricscotland.com/independence/legal.htm where you can also watch the video I made to go with it.

On the page you'll find information on how Freedom of Speech is now illegal in Scotland and how you can now be prosecuted for what you say in your own home. Also in the David Davis revelations in Westminster draw concerns that the Scottish Parliament does not have sufficient powers and unlike England there is no separation between our Courts and the Parliament.

    END

And that's it for this week and hope you all have a great weekend.

Alistair, I haven't been here for a while, read some of your newsletter, didn't think it possible that you could move further to the right but somehow you have, sort of, as the saying goes, makes Attila the Hun look like a Liberal. Perhaps Joe Biden will pass on and Harris will be President until Trump followers will be "called to arms", his personal security will be guaranteed by the NRA.

Alastair, I appreciate your perspective on events of interest. We get enough progressive mush from our bloated national broadcaster and others in the daily press, so your ferreting out of common sense views is welcomed into the balance. Thank you!

Well I do have a growing concern about the SNP as they seem to be holding Scotland back and seem to have no idea how to improve Scotland. I mean everything they've tried has simply not worked. And it's now pretty clear they are not bring transparent with Scots. They are very autocratic and they've even taken away free speech which ot me is the worst offence.
