Electric Scotland News
Just an observation but I like eggs - fried, boiled, poached, scrambled or anyway you like them. I have only ever purchased them from supermarkets but this week I was in a local business who specialises in supplying pork to the local market. I noted they were selling their own eggs as an expansion of their business. So I purchased a dozen of them that I was told had just been collected that morning. Well I had a couple for breakfast and I've become a convert to eating fresh farm eggs as the taste was just so much better. So perhaps do a search in your local area to see if you can pick some up and try them for yourself.
Scottish News from this weeks newspapers
I am partly doing this to build an archive of modern news from and about Scotland and world news stories that can affect Scotland and as all the newsletters are archived and also indexed on search engines it becomes a good resource. I might also add that in a number of newspapers you will find many comments which can be just as interesting as the news story itself and of course you can also add your own comments if you wish which I do myself from time to time. Here is what caught my eye this week...
Shock drone footage show thousands of dead fish being hauled out the water at zombie scandal salmon farm
Surveillance pictures of the Bakkafrost Scotland farm show large containers packed with lifeless salmon being offloaded.

Canada-India row puts spotlight on Sikh activism in UK
Given the dramatic developments in Canada, where PM Trudeau has said there is credible evidence to suggest India was involved in the killing of a Canadian Sikh, it is unsurprising that rumours now swirl around the deaths of other Sikh activists around the world, including in the UK.

The New American Way of Trade
In December 2019, in the middle of one of the most toxic political environments in U.S. history, the House of Representatives cast the most significant vote on trade matters in decades. By a vote of 385 to 41, the House of Representatives changed the course of trade policy by approving the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), upending the unbridled free trade philosophy that had been conventional wisdom for 70 years.

Story
The Life or Sir David Baird
I was half way through this book and suddenly remembered that I was meant to be working on this newsletter. I had been reading a book I added this week "The Bairds of Auchmedden and Stricken, Aberdeenshire" By John Malcolm Bulloch (1934) and in it was a mention of this General. I couldn't remembered anything about him so decided to Google him to see what I might find. Lo and behold I found this book about him and it was available on ElectricScotland.com. WOW... so I loaded it and started reading and some hours later I was still reading it when it came to my notice that I should have produced the newsletter and sent it out to you. So sorry for the late posting.
This being the case I think I'll use this book as my story for this week and hope you enjoy it as much as I have. You can download it from:

END.
Weekend is almost here and hope it's a good one for you.
