  • First Impressions of England and its People

We have many reports of Englishmen visiting Scotland so when I found this book of a Scotsman visiting England I couldn't resist adding it to the site.

You can read this book at http://www.electricscotland.com/hist...er/england.htm

    Hi Alastair

On the site, you have other books by Hugh Miller.

They were of interest to me, due to my late brother's life interest in geology.

I also found a book by Elizabeth Sutherland about Miller's wife Lydia, which gives an insight into how much help she gave to her husband.

This book was reprinted in 2003, and therefore will be in copyright.

If you can provide the title I can check the copyright situation Ranald.

Hi Alastair - I have sent you an email, with information that I feel sure will preclude any copy of or from the book.
