Was just watching the Rememberence Day in Canada with the ceremony in Ottawa. Quite a moving event and I noted at the end of the event many people place their poppy onto the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Seems this started around 5 years ago and is now part of the annual ceremony.
They were commenting how many young people were in the crowds. And later we were told that many veterans are visiting schools to talk to the children about their experiences.
Still lots of Scots in the Canadian forces and the Pipes were well in evidence.
Major-General MacKenzie (Retired) was talking through some of his experiences.
