  • Some more Gaelic Language resources

Alastair – Thank you for your swift action in opening up this forum which hopefully will become invaluable to members with an interest in the language of the Gàidhealtachd.

Another couple of Scottish Gàidhlig resources that may be helpful to members and get things off to a good start:

http://www.faclair.com/index.aspx?Language=en This site lets one enter a word in either Gaelic or English, translates it, and in some cases an audio pronunciation is also given.

http://www.smo.uhi.ac.uk/gaidhlig/goc/ This site has all sorts of aids to Gaelic education. Browsing through it you will find news, interesting articles, poems, song lyrics, dictionaries, grammar and pronunciation guides etc.

Re: Some more Gaelic Language resources

I have Gaelic books to help me speak it and understand what is being said, but alas i am at a compleate loss at the language since i have not spoken the language since my grand-mum died almost 30 years ago. I have been trying to get back into it.
If you have no idea where your from you cant go forward.
