This message mainly for Alastair, but may be of interest to others.
I came across an interesting web site of the BBC (see first link below).
During caravan holidays, I had come across various crannog locations, including the main Scottish one at Kenmore on Loch Tay (see second link below).
Being aware that ES had two books on the subject, I sent the link to them at Kenmore (see third link below).
I received a reply, to the effect that they were not aware of the books, and had already down loaded both books. I was also advised that the links for the books will be passed to all the staff.
I intend to request that they advise of the ES site, because of the immense amount of Scottish information available.
I just cannot keep this old brain from working.
