    Quite an interesting article, It is surprising just how many people are unaware of the historical origins of the device.

    I have seen it many times in old photographs, a lot of times in wall tiles or fireplace surrounds, although due to its WW2 history it is not quite "PC" these days

        The swastika is also apparently common in native American art. Many years ago I had a Navajo saddle blanket which was brought to me as a gift by visiting friends from the U.S.A. (this was lost with many other belongings in the flood of 2004.) It was embroidered around the edge with what were clearly swastikas.
