I do realize that this might not have to do with the above "foam" at Aberdeen. (by the by, I do have cousins up there!! Not always in touch!) When I lived in E. Anglia, many years ago, we used to observe in streams/rivers around the area, similar foam, which people would say was from detergents emptying into the water. Quite foamy at times. Joan
PS: Ranald, I am able to get BBC England/Scotland, etc. now. Not at all sure why I couldn't for so long.
