When I traveled with my family to Nova Scotia, in 1979, we went counter-clockwise around Cape Breton Island, camping mainly near the beaches. I loved the entire trip, & yearn to go back. I have a photo of this stone that marks their "Lone Sheiling", and I copied the following from that stone:
From the Lone Shieling of the Misty Island,
Mountains divide us, and the Waste of Seas--
Yet still the blood is Strong,
The Heart is Highland,
And we in dreams...
Behold the Hebrides.
Thanks for allowing me to share this with you, both Scots, & Canadians. Joan
