Today the people of the United States of America are joined by all decent people around the world in commemorating and remembering the terrible events of 9-11-2001.
We join them in paying tribute to those who lost their lives and to those who unselfishly gave their lives saving others. May their sacrifice always stand as a reminder of what is good in the world and may the wounds and scars of those who still suffer from the effects of the events of that day be eased by the knowledge that they too are respected and honoured.
It is also appropriate to remember that there are still brave young men and women serving under the American Banners, and our own country’s Banners, prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to ensure that such atrocities are not repeated and that the freedoms most of us take for granted do not perish from this earth.
Let us remember them.
