Many years ago there was a sign on the wall which led up to St Enoch's station in Glasgow. I used to pass it every day going to work. It must have been there a very long time.
It said, "They came and a boon and a blessing to men.
The Pickwick, The Owl and the Waverley Pen."
I never knew what it meant. I guessed that it may have referred to some kind of old publications. I wonder what happened to the sign. Is it somewhere in a museum? Or did it just get discarded? Is it still there?
