I have yet to see anyone in chat..Now Steve..pour a Whiskey and de-stress...
I spent 10 minutes in there yesterday, tried to figure out how it worked :laugh2: , gave a Tassie weather report to myself  (I think I was in the bar ) , received a round of silent applause , and then went back to happy foruming
Steve just emailed me to say he is going to devote this next weekend to working on the community and so I hope we'll see some interesting things happening.
I created a Facebook account so I'll be ready to make use of the Facebook Connect once Steve gets that working. I only created the account a couple of days ago and when I went in today I found 50 invitations and then another pile came in so I think I now have around 100 friends.
I need to better understand the Friends and Groups options we have. As I am an Administrator of the system I am given options that are not open to members so I think I am going to have to create a member account so I can check things out better.
As I work myself through Facebook to understand it better I'm actually quite pleased with our own offerings but obviously a few things we need to fix and add. They have a better picture gallery from the point of ease of upload. I uploaded 50 pictures and the only limitation was that no picture could be more than 5Mb's. I'd like to see our own gallery working like that so we'll work on it.
And yes we do need to get a better chat system with a much better way to invite anyone that is online to come in for a chat. Mind though that one of the options in your profile is to hide the fact you are online.
I have been emailing lots of folk to invite them into our community and have now got interest from the University of Otago and also Glasgow Caledonian University. The thing about Universities is that we hope to get lots of their students interested and hope when they join up they'll invite other students to join them.
And so onwards and upwards and look forward to seeing what Steve gets up to at the weekend.
