Just made a big pot of scotch broth. I've had to make bigger quantities as more people want some of it :laugh2: The thing is that I never really make it exactly the same way twice. For example, this time I chucked in some chopped up buk choy, although it always has to have barley.....wouldn't be scotch broth without it. Can't get flank mutton here which is what my mother used to make the stock, but I was in one of the big supermarkets last week and they were selling off cuts of lamb at $5 for a big bag, so I grabbed some.....the stock tastes really nice.
So we are having it for dinner tonight with home baked bread rolls followed by apple strudel & cream. Yum! Looking forward to dinnertime.
