Now, Now, take the beating like a man, you were played off the park. I currently waiting in anticipation of the next 2 x games for Scotland. I see the commentators on ITV have already put England through to the semi - finals with either Argentina or Scotland getting through. The only person to pull them up on it was the South African as they sat there with their smug wee faces !!!

I see it says you are the Pebble Dash champion, I hope you feel better soon, I find a balanced diet fairly helps bowel symptoms !!!

Just got a quote for our tickets...Brisbane > Dubai >Paris, then return Dublin > Dubai > Singapore > Brisbane flying Emirates total $3400 for the both of us...nice.. Will have a 2 night stay in Singapore on the way home. Now to get some accommodation in Paris for 3 days, and book out tickets on Eurostar Paris > London. Then we will sort out the UK part of our holiday.

That's cheap Euan. Which month is it? Late hubby and I spent a couple of nights in Singapore one time, in April. We didn't have any accommodation booked but at the airport they have/had a last minute hotel desk and we got half price accommodation in the Hilton.

Elda, i forgot to add $148 in taxes to each of our fares, however i think that's still a good deal. We leave on the 1st of May and return on the 31st..Our travel agent will organize our accommodation in Singapore, so not sure where that will be yet.

It's still a good deal Euan. I think that's what they call the "shoulder" period which can be considerably cheaper. The only thing about going to Europe in summer (or close to summer) is that you have to pack winter AND summer clothes as you never know what it will be like. I was there one time in October and we were sitting out in deckchairs in shorts & T.shirts....you can just never tell.

Hi Eaun,
could you send me that old flak jacket please? I am on a US base in Kyrgyzstan and they are pretty paranoid about an old Scotsman wandering around. So much so that I need an "escort" (NOT that kind) to go anywhere. So I have to sit in my cell and listen to an Internet Radio station.
I leave on Sunday and so should be home to celebrate Thanksgiving. I asked Betty to cook a turkey, but I have this feeling I'll be the only turkey in sight!
Maybe get a glimpse of the real Turkey on the way home.
I should be back in Scotland by the time you are there.

We should be paying for our tickets this weekend, so it appears we will be spending 3 days in Paris, one week around London, two weeks or so in Scotland, 3 days in Ireland and 2 days in Singapore on the way home. So that should give us (you and me) a day or two to sample plenty of whisky!

Hi Euan, I am in KGZ just now but leave on Sunday. I feel like the prisoner of Zenda but he had more freedom than I do.
You can sample the whisky, I'll recycle the beer. I had better get into training for your visit! Right now it's Gatorade and coffee. No wonder I have heartburn.
I expect to be in Canada early next year so May should be Ok. The are two public holidays in May but they should not cause you any problems.
Wish I were making your trip but the other way round!!
My niece and family are moving to Melbourne on Nov. 1. Fiona is back in Manitoba and her "man" has just gone back to Chinchilla, Singapore and PNG on this "rotation" so I still don't know what is happening there.

Sandy, i have been to Chinchilla twice in the last six weeks with work..what ever you do should you ever visit the place, don't drive there. The road into Chinchilla from Brisbane is a disgrace..i would call it a goat track, but that would be an insult to goats...
BTW, it appears i shall be in your neck of the woods from the middle of May, 4-5 days in Auld Reekie, then up to Aberdeen for 2 days, Inverness for a one night stay, then maybe a night in Thurso, over to Skye for the day then down to the sunny warm climates of Glesca for a few days..then over to Dublin for 2 days before we fly home..

This is the latest and hopefully final itinerary for our trip to the UK...maybe just a tweak here or there though..

We fly Emirates to Paris (and yes i know France isn't in the UK) via Singapore and Dubai on the 1st of May 2012, we stay 3 nights in Paris at the Aviatic Hotel, then Eurostar to London for 7 nights staying at the Hilton London Olympia Hotel. Then we head to Cardiff for 3 nights staying at the Parc hotel, then it's off to York for 3 nights (not sure of hotel yet), then it's the train to Edinburgh for 6 nights staying at the Holiday Inn Express Waterfront. We then drive to Inverness for 3 nights staying at the Thistle Inverness, then a drive to Skye for one night in a B&B. Then were of to Glasgow for 1 night (somewhere to be confirmed)before flying to Dublin for 3 nights staying at the Temple Bar Hotel before flying home from Dublin.
If you wonder why only 1 night in Glasgow, we intend to do a trip there while in Edinburgh.
All up we will be away for the entire month of May arriving home on the 2nd June.
We will be happy to meet up with anyone from ES in those places if possible..
Ranald, i expect to visit Falkirk during our stay in Edinburgh as my Dad came from there.
Sandy, you can show us the sights of Glasgow...for your trouble i'll shout you a pint of Fosters..

Yes Ranald 17th till 23rd..will be looking forward to meeting up during that time. We will have a hire car at some time during those dates, not sure when yet.
