HI, Hugh, & all...I just now at 11 PM, printed this off. Here's my first attempt: #6 "age before beauty", #7 "forest", #8 "somewhere over the rainbow", & #11 "orange juice". Will continue to ponder them.
OK, have a couple more...#3 is "flat out", #12 is "hand shake".

Joan, you are bang on for #6, #7, #8 and #11, but #3 and #12 are a little off. Actually I think your answer for #3 is a possible alternate. I have 3 alternate answers for #3 and 2 alternates for #12 so there are lots of possibilities.

On second thought Ranald, your answer is just as good as the ones Doug has. I would suggest it as an alternate answer. But there are still #2, #9, #10 & #12 waiting for answers.

Note - blunderbus (one 's') not accepted by my spellchecker. Just checked using Chambers Dictionary, and they show two 'ss' !!
It is years since I heard, or used the word !
Oh, just thought.... #2 one from four is three, but four plus one is five. (not sure if this should be 4-1=3 and 4+1=5 ?

Correct Ranald on #9 & #12. Maybe I should correct the puzzle to include the other "s". I'm afraid that #2 is rather far out, so far out that I would be surprised if anyone got it. But #10 is still possible.

HI, all...The only thing in regards to #2 that I've thought of, is #2. "forty, thirty, fifty". It doesn't make sense, but a try.
