Hello, Hugh! Luckily, I checked online tonight. #1 "short shrift", #2 "Keep it up!", #3 "first hand, not second hand", #5 What's between the devil & the deep blue sea?" #8 "Everything overboard", #9 is "Going around the bend", #10 is either "Martin Lewis, or Lewis Martin". I am working on the others, too.

I'll agree with Joan on #1, #2, #5 and #9. I think #3 is "Top Hand" or maybe "High Hand", #8 is "Everything is Above Board" and #10 is "Lewis and Martin". I'll add #4 - "Pig in a Poke", #6 - "Left Holding the Bag", #7 - "Fair and Square" and #11 - "Come up to Scratch". #12 is probably not "Esso" so hopefully Joan and Ranald can see through that one.

Actually, I should have said #10 "Martin and Lewis" the way it's set up here, but a pretty crazy pair regardless of how you organize them!

Let's try "Solo" for #12. Funny how the brain works - not a clue when I'm thinking about it, then up it pops when I'm trying to concentrate on something else. Good fun regardless!
