At long last!!! I'm the first to get a shot at these enigmas!! OK, #1 is "invaders", #4 is "sugar & spice", #5 is "sitting pretty", & #11 is "maid in the mist". There's still some left, guys! OH, & #3 is "lost in shuffle".

Hello all - You're right, Hugh, this one seems to be a doddle. (Hope I don't end up with egg on my face.) I agree with Joan's #3, #4, #5 & #11; I think "Space Invaders" may fit better for #1. Then: #2 "Politically Incorrect", #6 "Pinafore", #7 "Grin 'n' bear it", #8 "Mother-in-law", #9 "Examination", #10 "Continent", and #12 "Sovereignty".
