Hey, John...over here in the US of A, we call them railroad crossings! Think you had an "unfair" advantage on that one!!! Ha! And on the spelling of Louvre, it's the same as the French spelling! HO. Thanks to your clue I think #4 may have finally dawned on me, Hugh - "Lacrosse". (It's popular here as well.) I'd say #2 could be "A lump in the throat" and #5 looks like "Salt and pepper". - Cheers, John.
