Good start Ranald, you got #1, #9 & #11. But what is special about enumerate? This is one of the tricky ones.

Hello, Hugh...Just now got the puzzle printed off. I have a few......#4 is "long overdue", #6 is "sweet nothings", #8 is "male chimp". Still thinking about others. How about #7 "you entrust"?

Hi Hugh and others - sorry about that, got myself mixed up with my postings somehow.
I'll try #2 "The Three Musketeers", #3 Red herring", #6 "Sweet Adeline" and #10 "Daddy long-legs".
#5 could be that old comedy duo "Little and Large", but I don't think it's correct.

That's very close John, just a little tweaking needed, but could be an alternate answer. The one Doug gives sounds like a legal term.

In that case, Hugh, I'll try "Breach of trust" for #7. All I can think of for #8 is "Cheep" (if that makes any sense.) I'll have to give up on #5. Cheers, John.
