Hello, all of us!!! I've been chewing over just what I can do about the above, my large white van. It has a tremendous security system in it, & a Pioneer radio/cd player system, etc. However, in leaving here, & going to the niece's wedding in Nags Head, NC., I came back & tried to start the van, & the battery was NOT alive. Do I need to advise, that the security system causes the battery to die down????
I've been having the same problem for the 6 years I've had the giant, & the security system will sound with the loudest siren in the parking area, if you even look at it cross-eyed! So, I'm the owner of a battery charger, but usually on doing this, as have done so for many times over the years, just the problem of the van NOT being "dependable" eats at me, if you know what I mean! Wake up at night, thinking about the van....etc. I do want to go camping at least once this summer down at Cumberland Gap, so finally today, with the help of my neighbor.....we got the great clunker going!!
Am considering this a triumphant day, & while out this eve, driving madly down the interstate, to charge it up, I was in my glory. Will have to continue to test it till I am able to "trust" it, & then perhaps, will exit to the big CG. I am going to purchase a new set of battery charger cables, though.
It's wonderful to sleep inside the van, just in case some of those reputed bears come around down there. That's the ONLY reason I like the siren & system! I do need to save $ as will have to feed the monster gas, & should have it checked a bit before taking off. This might take me into September. Who knows?? Any comments, or advice from the guys???
