I was almost in 'two minds' about this topic :confused:......gardening or history??? ..however history won the day and if you care to follow all the instructions you may even be able to "grow your own" :smile:

During WWII when at school in Grantown-on-Spey, I with others started our own plot within the school grounds. I seem to recall potato's, but not sure if they were our own home grown!! lol

Also in the early 1940s, my brother and I had a holiday at St Abbs, and in the surrounding fields there were Land Army girls. The first that we had seen in uniform.
